Role Overview The purpose of the Investment Manager is to bring ideas and plans to life and ensuring their delivery against strategic and communication objectives. The key responsibilities are to manage the implementation planning and buying process for the client, assist the Director with the management of the Investment team and identify new and non-traditional partnership opportunities. This role is highly collaborative with Strategy, Communications Design and Client Advice & Management, and develops strong client facing relationships.
Role and Responsibilities
Client • Work with the Client stakeholders to ensure alignment with and delivery against client KPI’s including media partner selection, tracking performance. • Implementation of campaigns and reporting process while delivering on the communication and investment objectives for the client • Communicate client and product progress effectively to the team and craft leads. • Prepare POVs for targeted opportunities on an on-going basis for clients to further drive their business. • Provide senior-level guidance, analysis and POV for client. • Prepare and present implementation recommendations and post campaign analyses to client, • Acts the client liaison for marketplace intelligence, negotiation, and Partnership needs. • Leads team and provides insightful input in developing buys that are strategic, deliver on client objectives and meet goals. • Develop sophisticated plans that leverage data and analytics for multi-faceted media partnerships. • Contribute to the ideation process with Communications Design, to develop integrated partnerships solutions through media implementation planning and remains true to the strategic direction.
Agency Profile • Develop superior negotiation strategies that deliver maximum value and efficiency for a group of clients • Recommend appropriate media partners with accompanying rationale, implementation ideas, budget, goals and success measures • Resolve issues with media partners (pricing, discrepancies, added value, campaign shortfalls, etc.) • Ensure the team adheres to same day SMD loadings across all media bookings pertaining to their nominated clients and according to the Magna best practice guidelines, utilising our Centre of Excellence and automation tools • Ensure the team delivers weekly tracking (ensuring in campaign delivery), buy summary, burst summary and post campaign analysis reports • Oversee budget control of approved media campaigns, including invoicing, proforma checking, account queries and liaising with the CAM team on approvals • Oversee the delivery of campaign measurement to accomplish broader communication and marketing objectives • Build trusted and meaningful relationships with media vendors at sales manager and GSM levels
Commercial • Interpret the client/agency contract agreements and how it may impact scope of work, remuneration structure and key campaign KPIs • Develop and maintains media partner relationships • Negotiate pricing that reflects efficiencies and client objectives • Negotiate added value executions that support client objectives • Ensure understanding of MAGNA and IPG Mediabrands priority media partners • Implement investment commitments as provided by the Investment Director or Magna • Lead negotiations with key media partners, working with the Investment Director as support.
Team Leadership • Manage the Investment team in the day-to-day activities for assigned clients. • Contribute to the development of a positive and motivating work environment for the team. • Contribute to the people processes for the Associates and Executives including conducting performance reviews, providing clear guidance on KPIs and providing mentorship and guidance on development areas. • Guide and train team on the investment process.
Agency Leadership • Build individual career profile through industry opinion pieces or through contributions in trade events and forums. • Support on new business pitches as required. • Contribute to agency cultural initiatives.
